when you finally break down and buy one of roxio's or nero's overweight programs the time it takes to convert and burn files to a blank dvd is, equivalent to waiting for the resurrection of Christ. with the promise of doing every video conversation under the sun and then more. because the version you just bought don't encode to this particular type of format.or the version you just purchased was a scam,well i call them scammers, the box or ad may have said it converts and burns files to a blank dvd's but only like two different types of formats, roxio and nero always want you to buy the next upgrade. The writer only comes with software for Windows. I have since purchased an ASUS 12X Blu-Ray Writer and Aiseesoft's Blu-Ray Ripper for Mac. However, it is not capable of writing in HD and has no Blu-Ray capability. iDVD is not readily available commercially, so I had to use eBay to obtain a copy. Unfortunately the only means to create a DVD directly is to have iMovie send the file to IDVD. I have created several projects using iMovie in HD (1920 x1080p).
